Quiet Little Rebel

“And her wildest dreams hadn’t even begun…”

Thoughts of her own

Rest silent

For she would never dismiss a smile

Striving for approval any chance she can get

The dance floor is her only escape

Acceptance – it hurts, it drains, it comes in waves

An unheard voice, it’s as sad as they come

Like the Queen who administered her crown to the halfhearted one…

Lingering in a pathetic sea of ties and laces would no longer work

For she had her own roads to pave, her own mess to make, her own soul to please

Inner talk mixed with endless pours, a more vulgar, yet confident version was unleashed

“Away with you to the world!” she said. “Oh, and to you too!”

Running wild, in the forest of her own mind became an obsession, a state of clarity

Everything made sense now, she could finally see

A new place, a new frame, a reality breaking the air

Glory set in beneath her skin, this new life – it was her very first love affair
